Craig's Kaplan story

2011 - 2022

Created by Margaret 2 years ago

On joining Kaplan, Craig was originally based at KIC London.  He soon moved to CLIQ – initially on secondment – where he spent the vast majority of his Kaplan career, located in Liverpool.  Although it should be remembered Craig was one of the first members of the CLIQ team to ‘work remotely’ – nearly a decade ago Craig conducted business very ably from the sun-shed, at the bottom of his parents’ garden, in North Wales.

Craig has played an instrumental role in our assessment activities over the years, particularly in English language and, as a result, worked closely with many colleagues across Pathways. He also contributed to a number of our projects in the Middle East and most recently on KITE.

His work on the now English for Academic Purposes module (formerly LS3) involved steering and leading the EAP co-ordinators, listening to their feedback and needs, ensuring we have the suite of language curriculum materials and assessments which are very well-respected by our partners. Our Business, Law and Social Sciences colleagues know him as the advisor and guide on remote assessments. He described himself as ‘an assessment evolutionist’ – as well as helping maintain quality he is forward-thinking in his approaches and would challenge colleagues to ensure we offer assessments that are fit for the modern age.

He had always taken great pride in his work and approached it with great dedication.  His sense of humour, story telling and poem crafting talent was legendary.

Critical D! We shall miss you terribly!
